While the naming may imply this is a successor to the SD 7 Gen 2 or SD 7s Gen 2, the new chip slots between the two  forenamed SoCs. SD 7 Gen 3 is fabbed on TSMC’s 4nm process technology and features a 1 3 4 CPU package. The Kryo CPU brings a  high core clocked at2.63 GHz, alongside 3 x performance cores@2.4 Ghz and 4 x  effectiveness cores@1.8 GHz.  Qualcomm claims a 15 improvement in CPU performance and 50 faster Adreno GPU compared to last year’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip. The 7 Gen 3 chip is also stated to offer 20 power savings based on Qualcomm’s tests.      The Qualcomm Hexagon NPU inside the SD 7 Gen 3 should offer 60 faster AI performance per watt over SD 7 Gen 1.
