Samsung unveils a 12.4-inch rollable OLED panel:
During the periodic Display Week trade show in Los Angeles, Samsung showcased a potentially revolutionary12.4- inch rollable OLED panel. Surely, this is not the first time we see a rollable conception, but Samsung's invention is a step ahead of the competition as it's the largest one so far and it rolls in a bitsy scroll.
The panel can go from 49 mm to254.4 mm, that is an emotional 5x scalability compared to the current sliding defenses that can only go up to 3x their original size. Samsung Display says it was suitable to achieve this by using an O- shaped axis mimicking a scroll. The company calls it Rollable Flex and can be fully rolled.
In addition to the Rollable Flex, Samsung introduced a Flex In & Out OLED panel, which can bend in both directions, unlike the presently used tech that allows the flexible OLEDs to fold by just one direction. Case in point, Samsung's veritably own Galaxy Flip4 and Fold4.
Last, but not least, the Korean tech mammoth also introduced the world's first OLED panel with an intertwined point anthology and heart rate detector. Current executions calculate on a small detector area while Samsung's result allows you to unleash the handset with a touch of a cutlet anywhere on the screen face. It has bedded the light- seeing organic photodiode( OPD) into the panel itself. The tech can also read blood pressure, heart rate and stress by covering the blood vessels' compression and relaxation.
